GETTING STARTED - WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
This yoga is specifically designed for beginners. If you feel nervous, scared, or a little intimidated, don’t let that stop you from coming to class. We love new students who have never practiced yoga before! Your first class will challenging, but it will be worth it! Come into class with an open mind and heart. With patience and practice you’ll soon feel right at home.
Here are a few tips for your first class
What to Bring :Yoga mat, large beach towel, a bottle of water, & an open heart. We rent and sell any of these items if you forget. If you wish to shower here, please feel free to bring an extra shower towel and a change of clothes for afterwards.
What to Eat:Avoid eating two hours before class. If you must eat, have something light such as fruit. This is because having a lot of food in your stomach could make you feel nauseous in the heat.
What to Drink:Make sure you come to class hydrated. Drink plenty of water throughout the day. A general hydration guide is to drink half your body weight in ounces throughout the day. Electrolyte replenishment is also key to being fully hydrated.
What to Wear:Wear something light and fitted and be prepared to sweat a lot!
Arrive EARLY:Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your first class to register and get comfortable with your surroundings. Doors are locked once the class starts. New students under the age of 18 should be accompanied by an adult for their first class. You can save time by registering online and purchasing the intro month special.

Take it Easy:You will feel challenged during class, everyone does. Work hard, but listen to your body. Never be afraid to sit down. It’s normal to feel dizzy, nauseous or light headed. It’s temporary and as your body acclimates & detoxes, these sensations will disappear.
Expect to Sweat:The room is heated & sweating is an intentional component of this yoga. The heat will help to warm your muscles, prevent injuries & allow for a deeper workout. Sweating also helps flush toxins from the body.
Stay in the Room :Each 60 and 90 minute class consists of a standing series & a floor series. Each posture builds on the last & prepares for the next. Please commit to staying in the room for the entire class.
No Judgment:During class no one will look at you or judge you. Other people’s focus is on themselves; they are working too hard to even notice you. The teacher will guide you & instruct you, always with compassion & respect. No need to be self-conscious.
Ask Questions:Feel free to approach the teachers with any questions or concerns before & after class. If you have any pre-existing injuries or modifications for any other reasons, please speak to the teacher before class.
Come Back Soon:Try to take your second class within 24 hours. Even if you are sore after your first class, still try to take your second class as soon as possible. It will help you to work through the soreness. You might feel nauseous, dizzy, or have a slight headache after class. This could be a sign that you are dehydrated. Please drink lots of water, including electrolytes. Make it a goal to practice 10 times in the first month (or as many as possible) to receive maximum benefits from this yoga. In fact, if you practice 10 times in your first month, we will reward you with 10% off our retail store. When you follow this proven method, the results are amazing!
